τοῦ ξενικοῦ θανάτου ἐγγύθεν ἐρχόμενος,
τὴν ἰδίαν γνώμην κατεμέμψατο, καὶ τὸ μάθημα,
καὶ τοὺς πειθομένους ἀστρολόγοις ἀλόγοις.
When Gessius discovered the fraud of the oracle of Ammon not long before his death in a strange land, he blamed his own belief and that science, and those who trust in silly astrologers.
