καὶ ποτέ μιν στυφελιζομένου σκύλακος παριόντα
φασὶν ἐποικτεῖραι, καὶ τόδε φάσθαι ἔπος:
παῦσαι, μηδὲ ῥάπιζ᾽, ἐπειὴ φίλου ἀνέρος ἐστὶψυχή, τὴν ἔγνων, φθεγξαμένης ἀίων.
