Alkiménès le pauvre, ayant joui dans un petit jardin des bienfaits de cet été si fructueux, a offert en présent à Pan une figue, une pomme et un peu d'eau, en lui disant: "C'est toi qui me dispenses ces biens qui me font vivre; acceptes-en les prémices, provenant tant de mon jardin que de cette roche qui t'est consacrée, et en échange donne-moi plus que tu n'auras reçu de moi."
