ὦ σοβαρὴ Ῥοδόπη, Παφίης εἴξασα βελέμνοις
καὶ τὸν ὑπερφίαλον κόμπον ἀπωσαμένη,
ἀγκὰς ἑλοῦσὰ μ᾽ ἔχεις παρὰ σὸν λέχος: ἐν δ᾽ ἄρα δεσμοῖς
κεῖμαι, ἐλευθερίης οὐκ ἐπιδευόμενος.

οὕτω γὰρ ψυχή τε καὶ ἔκχυτα σώματα φωτῶν
συμφέρεται, φιλίης ῥεύμασι μιγνύμενα.
