Ἀνδρόθεν ἐκκέχυθ᾽ ἵππος: ἀνέδραμε δ᾽ ἱππόθεν ἀνήρ,
ἀνὴρ νόσφι ποδῶν, κεφαλῆς δ᾽ ἄτερ αἰόλος ἵππος:
ἵππος ἐρεύγεται ἄνδρα, ἀνὴρ δ᾽ ἀποπέρδεται ἵππον.

Les Belles Lettres, t. XIII, p. 124 : "Tzetzès cite un vers analogue en l'attribuant à l'empereur Julien : ἄνθρωπον ἀποπέρδεται ἵππος (Chil., VI, 959). On eut tendance à lui attribuer des pièces osées (A.P., XI, 108), réaction chrétienne contre l'"Apostat" ; or, c'était contraire au caractère de Julien."
